Job summary

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, LLC is seeking an Equipment Technician to perform preventative maintenance on robotic instrumentation, document repairs, and ensure data backups for clinical testing workflows. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration within a fast-paced laboratory environment.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot equipment issues, follow procedures, and communicate with manufacturers as needed to minimize downtime and maintain high-quality laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with preventative maintenance of laboratory instrumentation is required.
• Ability to document repairs and maintenance accurately and timely.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and protect patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations for all robotic instrumentation.
• Maintain documentation of repairs and preventative maintenance for all laboratory equipment.
• Maintain backups of all clinical testing data and ensure data integrity.
• Perform troubleshooting on broken equipment and communicate with manufacturers as needed.
• Assist as a team member and uphold safe, quality-focused work practices.

Job description

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL) is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses. MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease. Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

Essential Functions:

• Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations for all robotic instrumentation
• Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, L.L.C Standard Operating Procedures Manual for all robotic instrumentation
• Maintain documentation of all repairs for all laboratory equipment
• Maintain documentation of preventative maintenance for all laboratory equipment
• Maintain back-up of all clinical testing data
• Perform troubleshooting on broken equipment
• Perform repairs on broken equipment with guidance as required
• Communicate with equipment manufacturers regarding troubleshooting and repair

Additional Responsibilities:

• Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.
• Assures activities are conducted in a safe manner and materials are handled according to safety guidelines.
• Assures customer privacy is maintained at all times.
