Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. seeks a Robotic Welding Engineer to develop, program, and optimize robotic MIG/MAG welding for mild steel heavy fabrication. You will troubleshoot issues, lead corrective actions, and ensure process stability across weld cells.

You’ll support technicians, collaborate with maintenance, and drive improvements through data-driven analysis. Preferred candidates hold a Welding Engineering degree and have experience with robotic platforms and welded process controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MIG/MAG welding for mild steel and related process controls.
• Experience with robotic platforms (e.g., Komatsu, Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa) is preferred.
• Ability to evaluate fixture repeatability, weld access, cycle time, and manufacturability in production.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and optimize robotic MIG/MAG welding systems for heavy fabrication.
• Troubleshoot welding system issues and lead root cause analysis.
• Maintain welding systems to ensure specs and WPS compliance.
• Support weld technicians and provide training from a MIG/MAG perspective.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production on corrective actions and PM scheduling.
• Support NPI, engineering changes, and process launches with weld reviews.
