Job summary

State of Missouri’s Springfield Maintenance Facility is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform routine, entry-level duties overseeing the upkeep of state roadways and facilities. Duties include traffic control, pothole repair, sign maintenance, and equipment servicing.

Positions are available at entry, intermediate, and senior levels with a career ladder path. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid CDL, and pass CDL written and driving exams within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Passing grade on the CDL written portion is required prior to hire; tanker endorsement; no air brake restrictions; interstate status; pass driving portion within 60 days of hire.
• Completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination completed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains state highway systems: filling joints/patching potholes, flagging, traffic control devices, loading/unloading materials, clearing brush, roadside cleanup.
• Maintains, cleans and repairs highway facilities: repairing road signs/guardrails, cleaning curbs/gutters, painting buildings/equipment, servicing equipment.

CDL exam requirement (Class B with tanker endorsement; EI/NI; pass written and driving portions within 60 days)
