Job summary

Nassau County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Construction Inspector in Yulee, FL to inspect roadways, bridges and development projects for adherence to County standards and state specifications. The role involves field inspections, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring proper permitting and quality control.

Responsibilities include grading/drainage inspections, resolving field issues, reviewing contract documents and change orders, and maintaining safety on active construction

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of roadways, bridges and new development projects for compliance with County standards/codes, FDOT Index and Specifications, Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Manual.
• Provide guidance to contractors in solving design conflicts.
• Perform residential lot grading and drainage complaint inspections.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure proper permitting was obtained.
• Complete lot grading inspections; inspect grade work and construction on residential sites to ensure compliance with approved site plans and County specifications/codes.
• Review contracts documents for compliance; process change orders.
