Job summary

H&H in Portland, Maine is seeking a Roadway/Transportation Designer to join our Highway Group. You will assist with design and development of highway and roadway projects, producing traffic control plans and staging layouts, and performing geometric design using MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads, AutoTurn, and GuideSign.

A BSCE and up to five years of civil engineering experience are sought, with EIT and internship experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSCE degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–5 years of civil engineering experience.
• EIT certification and internships preferred.
• Experience with Bentley CONNECT Suite and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Detail-oriented, team-oriented, with strong communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

H&H is seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and innovative Roadway/Transportation Designer to join our growing Highway Group in Portland, Maine. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals and assist with roadway and transportation design.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of conceptual alternatives and final design plans for highway, roadway, interchange, and drainage projects.
• Assist in the design and production of traffic control and staging plans, as well as traffic, signing, and striping plans.
• Perform geometric design and plan development using computer-aided design software, including MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads, AutoTurn, and GuideSign.
• Assist in the design of ADA-compliant facilities, including sidewalks, shared-use paths, and intersection curb ramps.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• Zero to five years of civil engineering experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and prior internship experience preferred.
• Experience with Bentley CONNECT Suite and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
