Job summary

Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) seeks a Striping Technician to install and maintain pavement markings, operate paint stripe equipment, and document traffic layouts. You will read maps, plan routes, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure safe work zones.

A valid Arizona driver’s license and ATSSA certifications are required or must be obtained within six months. Prior striping or road-work experience is preferred, with CDL tanker endorsement a plus.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in traffic control or traffic operations, including installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, or two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or construction of roads.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain ATSSA certifications (Flagger, Traffic Control Technician) within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain roadway pavement markings.
• Operate striping/paint equipment and related vehicles.
• Read maps, plan routes, and document traffic markings.
• Assess and report roadway and traffic control conditions.
• Coordinate with dispatch and work crews to ensure safety.
