Job summary

The Town of Kernersville is seeking a Street Maintenance Technician to perform semi-skilled and skilled tasks in street maintenance and related construction. You will work as part of a crew under supervision to patch asphalt, repair storm drains, and maintain municipal streets and right-of-way assets.

The role requires basic labor skills, ability to follow oral instructions, and a CDL within 2 years of hire; experience in construction is preferred.

Qualifications

• Entry level position; some construction experience preferred.
• CDL required within 24 months from hire.
• Knowledge of safety practices and standard manual labor techniques.

Responsibilities

• Patch asphalt and repair/construct storm drains and utilities.
• Maintain and repair streets, sidewalks, and driveways.
• Operate and service light to medium equipment; drive trucks for snow/Ice control.
• Assist with traffic control and work zone safety as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.
