Job summary

RailPros seeks a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to perform on-site roadway protection around live railroad tracks, coordinating jobs, dispatcher communications, and on-track safety in controlled areas. You will manage briefing, forms, and safety duties while traveling extensively across multiple states.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of track/construction experience, and On Track Safety training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years track/construction experience.
• On Track Safety training/qualification required.
• Proficient in radio communications between RWIC/EIC and work group.
• Ability to conduct job briefings for all roadway workers.
• Ability to place advance warning signs and derail/locking devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide required jobsite protection per rules; coordinate with dispatchers and engineers.
• Conduct daily job briefings with all personnel.
• Prepare and submit electronic forms: job set up, daily reports, invoices.
• Handle and place signs, derail and tools/equipment weighing 15–90 pounds.
• Participate in safety classes and trainings.
• Maintain communication with RWIC supervisors about assignments.
• Uphold integrity, accountability, and respect; adhere to policies.
