Job summary

T&M Associates seeks a Traffic Engineer or Transportation Planner to support NJDOT BSIP, focusing on HSIP implementation and statewide safety initiatives. The role involves evaluating, developing, and delivering engineering solutions that improve safety for all roadway users.

The position requires full-time, on-site work at NJDOT Headquarters in Ewing, New Jersey, with collaboration across interdisciplinary teams, preparation of technical reports, and engagement with stakeholders to advance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related field.
5+ years experience with NJDOT Capital Project Delivery Process; Complete Streets Policy preferred.
PE/PP/AICP/RSP1/RSP2 certification preferred.
Knowledge of FHWA Proven Safety Countermeasures, HSM, MUTCD, NJDOT Roadway Design Manual, AASHTO guidelines, and Complete Streets.
Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills; collaborate with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

Support HSIP and SHSP initiatives.
Participate in RSA/PRSA audits and coordinate with NJDOT and stakeholders.
Review projects to ensure safety improvements comply with standards.
Prepare reports and HSIP program reporting; assist data management and automation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support public outreach.
