Job summary

Garver is seeking an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer in Tulsa, Oklahoma to join our Transportation Team. You will assist in designing and drafting construction documents for transportation projects, including geometric layouts, drainage analysis, erosion control and traffic maintenance plans.

The role emphasizes mentoring younger engineers, coordinating task assignments, and gaining exposure to project procurement. A BS in civil engineering and EIT/EI eligibility within 1 year are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and creation of construction documents for transportation projects.
• Develop typical sections, geometry, drainage, erosion control and traffic maintenance plans.
• Prepare construction documents including drafting, quantities, specs and cost estimates.
• Mentor younger engineers and manage tasks for junior staff.

Roadway Project Engineer (Entry Level)

Garver is seeking an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in Tulsa to continue the tradition of providing quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on a wide variety of transportation projects.
• Different roadway design components include typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control plans, safety features and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Assignments will also involve tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Training younger engineers.
• Managing task assignments for younger engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) or the ability to become a EIT or EI within 1 year of employment
• Strong communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience or internship in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects
• Experience with Microstation and Inroads/Open Roads
• Familiarity with AASHTO's highway and traffic publications
