Job summary

Garver’s Round Rock office is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Transportation Team. You will assist in designing and producing construction documents, including roadway layouts, drainage, erosion control, safety features, and traffic control plans. You’ll draft, compute quantities, prepare specs and cost estimates while gaining exposure to project procurement and mentoring opportunities. This role emphasizes collaboration and client service.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• EIT or EI registration preferred.
• 1–4 years of related experience in transportation/civil design.
• Strong communication skills.
• MS Office proficiency.

Project Engineer

Garver is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in Round Rock TX to continue the tradition of providing reputable service to our municipal clients.

Responsibilities in this position will include:

• Assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on a wide variety of municipal transportation projects.
• Different roadway design components include typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage analysis, erosion control plans, safety features and traffic control plans.
• Assignments will also involve tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI)
• 1-4 years' related experience
• Must have previous experience in transportation and/or civil engineering design
• Strong communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on municipal transportation projects
• Experience with Open Roads and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with AASHTO's highway and traffic publications
