Job summary

Garver in Oklahoma City seeks an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer to join our Transportation Team. You will assist in designing and drafting construction documents, addressing various roadway design components, and supporting cost estimates and specifications.

The role offers mentoring, opportunities to lead tasks for junior staff, and exposure to project procurement and marketing activities within a growing firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) or ability to become one within 1 year.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on a wide variety of transportation projects.
  • Develop standard roadway design components including typical sections, layouts, drainage/hydraulic analysis, erosion control, safety features and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Produce construction documents including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Train younger engineers.
  • Manage task assignments for younger engineers and technicians.
  • Participate in marketing and project procurement activities.

Roadway Project Engineer (Entry Level)

Garver is seeking an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in Oklahoma City to continue the tradition of providing quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities in this position will include:
  • Assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on a wide variety of transportation projects.
  • Different roadway design components include typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control plans, safety features and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Assignments will also involve tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Training younger engineers.
  • Managing task assignments for younger engineers and technicians.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) or the ability to become a EIT or EI within 1 year of employment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience or internship in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects
  • Experience with Microstation and Inroads/Open Roads
  • Familiarity with AASHTO's highway and traffic publications
