Job summary

Garver is seeking an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer to join our Transportation Team in Round Rock, Texas. The role focuses on assisting with the design and documentation for a variety of transportation projects, including roadway components and traffic safety measures.

You will draft construction documents, compute quantities, and prepare cost estimates while training and guiding junior engineers. Ideal candidates hold a B.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
• Within 1 year of employment, ability to become a EIT or EI or already registered.
• Strong communication skills are essential for collaboration and report writing.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and creating construction documents for transportation projects.
• Contribute to typical roadway design components: sections, geometry, drainage, erosion control, safety features, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Prepare construction documents: drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Train younger engineers and manage task assignments for engineers and technicians.

Roadway Project Engineer (Entry Level)

Round Rock, Texas

Garver is seeking an entry-level Roadway Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in Tulsa to continue the tradition of providing quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities in this position will include:

• Assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on a wide variety of transportation projects.
• Different roadway design components include typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control plans, safety features and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Assignments will also involve tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Training younger engineers.
• Managing task assignments for younger engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) or the ability to become a EIT or EI within 1 year of employment
• Strong communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience or internship in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects
• Experience with Microstation and Inroads/Open Roads
• Familiarity with AASHTO's highway and traffic publications
