Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Roadway Programs Technician 1 within the Department of Transportation to support maintenance operations by reviewing information, tracking resources, and assisting with program planning. Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant
  • One year of experience in analysis of data used in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment
  • An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or related program
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once within three months of graduation

  • Equipment Tracking: Maintain rented equipment records and summaries
  • Financial Processing: Reconcile invoices, process payments, and manage database entries for utilities, travel, and expenses
  • Work Plan Analysis: Review and adjust work plans to ensure labor, materials, equipment, and funds match program needs
  • Data Review: Analyze data and reports to monitor production units, equipment use, material quantities, and system accuracy
  • Inventory Oversight: Assist with managing materials, inventory records, and bulk storage processes to support county operations

The Roadway Programs Technician 1 helps support maintenance operations by reviewing information, tracking resources, and assisting with program planning. The role provides technical support that helps ensure roadway projects are completed effectively. As a Roadway Programs Technician 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Purchasing Support:Assist with creating purchase orders, preparing specifications, reviewing bids, and recommending contract awards
  • Equipment Tracking:Maintain rented equipment records and summaries to support contractor responsibility requirements
  • Financial Processing:Reconcile invoices, process payments, and manage database entries for utilities, travel, and expenses
  • Work Plan Analysis:Review and adjust work plans to ensure labor, materials, equipment, and funds match program needs
  • Data Review:Analyze data and reports to monitor production units, equipment use, material quantities, and system accuracy
  • Inventory Oversight:Assist with managing materials, inventory records, and bulk storage processes to support county operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, at the end of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Ashley. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant; or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
  • An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program;or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
