Job summary

Border States Paving, Inc. is seeking a Road Project Manager for Asphalt Paving Operations, based in Fargo, ND. The role leads highway paving projects from planning through execution, coordinating crews, plant production, trucking and materials for DOT jobs.

You will maintain weekly records, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with project personnel while ensuring safety compliance. Extensive summer travel is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Highway Construction, Asphalt Paving, Materials Production or Engineering preferred.
• Strong personal communication skills; detail oriented; self-directed.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; driving record must meet company policy.
• Knowledge of heavy civil estimating tools (HCSS Heavy Bid) is a plus; but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee highway paving project management from planning to completion.
• Coordinate Paving Plant Production, Paving Crews, Trucking and Materials for DOT projects.
• Maintain on-time, accurate weekly records to certify work performed.
• Provide technical guidance, resolve issues, and support project personnel.
• Direct communications with DOT personnel on project details.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and company procedures.
