Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to lead complex roadway construction projects in Hartford, CT. This on-site role focuses on quality, safety, and timely delivery, coordinating inspectors, contractors, and testing agencies.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in roadway/bridge construction, a PE license (CT preferred), and strong communication skills. Field readiness for night/weekend work and travel to sites is required. Competitive compensation included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (Connecticut preferred) or NICET Level IV/ASCE Grade V qualifications.
• OSHA 30-hour certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide Quality Assurance and technical guidance on roadway projects.
• Review/Approve monthly pay estimates with Contractors and prepare change orders.
• Schedule and oversee testing agencies and maintain project records.
