Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 8 in Butler County, OH is hiring a Full-time Highway Maintenance worker. You will operate basic equipment, perform seasonal maintenance, install signs, patch pavement, and manage drainage while keeping roads safe and open.

Responsibilities include snow and ice control, emergency response, traffic control in work zones, regular vehicle inspections, and coordinating with crews to move supplies. A valid Commercial Driver’s License is required.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Commercial Driver’s License at the appropriate level.
• Experience operating basic highway maintenance equipment is preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift 50–100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic equipment and perform seasonal highway maintenance tasks.
• Install and repair traffic signs and pavement markings; perform drainage work.
• Conduct snow and ice control; respond to incidents and manage traffic in work zones.
• Maintain records, coordinate with crews, and perform miscellaneous labor in the garage.
