Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is hiring Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) in Clark County. The position is full-time at District 07, Clark County, Springfield, OH. Compensation ranges: HMW1 $21.48/hr or HT1 $22.29/hr.

Duties include flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repair, litter pickup, mowing, and snow/ice operations. Selected candidates will join OCSEA union staff and may receive ongoing pay increases, comprehensive benefits, and

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and basic English vocabulary; must obtain Class B CDL with tanker endorsement.
• 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment; ability to read, write and speak common English vocabulary.

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and work to make Ohio roads safer.
• Attend training to obtain CDL licensure; if not already licensed.
• Perform highway maintenance activities: flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• Perform snow & ice operations.
