Job summary

Pueblo, CO — The State of Colorado seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist to keep roadways safe and open. Duties include operating heavy equipment, snow plowing, mowing, debris removal, and maintaining guardrails and markings. On-call rotations and weather-related overtime are expected.

Requires a Colorado CDL and two years of physical labor or heavy equipment experience. Base pay is around $2,074.62 biweekly with total annual compensation in the $53k–$54k range.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, and tractors.
• Mowing grass and weeds; removing debris from roadways, culverts, and ditches.
• Installing and repairing guardrails, signs, and pavement markings; filling potholes and cracks.
• Setting out traffic control devices and responding to emergencies; maintaining equipment and safety procedures.
