Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Passing grade on the written portion of the CDL exam required prior to hire date.
• Must pass driving portion of CDL exam with tanker endorsement and interstate status within 60 days of hire.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Maintains state highway systems, including filling roadway joints and cracks and patching potholes, and directs traffic.
• Maintains facilities, cleans and repairs signs and guardrails, paints buildings and equipment, and services machinery.
• Operates vehicles to transport personnel and materials, plow snow, spread ice control materials, and operate various trucks and equipment.
• May repair bridge decks and drains, and perform work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
• May install signs and repair/maintain signs and posts.
