Job summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to perform routine, entry‑level duties maintaining state roadways and facilities under direct supervision. Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
Valid Driver’s License is required.
Passing grade on the CDL written exam is required before hire.
Must pass driving portion of CDL with tanker endorsement, Class B, interstate status within 60 days.

Responsibilities

Maintains state highway systems, including filling roadway joints and cracks and patching potholes; flagging and directing traffic; setting up signs, cones, arrow boards, and other traffic control devices.
Maintains, cleans, and repairs state highway facilities, including repairing and replacing road signs and guardrails; cleaning curbs and gutters; painting buildings and equipment; servicing equipment and machinery.
Operates vehicles to transport employees, equipment, machinery and/or materials, or to warn oncoming traffic; plow snow and spread ice control materials; mows right of way; operates various trucks and heavy machinery.
May repair bridge decks and drains, and clean bridge bents/caps at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
