Job summary

The City of South Jordan is hiring a Street Maintenance Worker to help with construction, maintenance, and repair of city streets and infrastructure.

Responsibilities include operating various vehicles and equipment, roadway repairs, and ensuring work zone safety. Applicants must be 18+, have a High School Diploma or GED, and a Utah Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement (or ability to obtain within six months).

Qualifications

• Must be safety-conscious and able to operate power tools/heavy equipment.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and conditions.
• Capable of lifting 40–60 lbs. and staying physically active.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment for street maintenance.
• Support roadway maintenance including asphalt, drainage, and signage.
• Identify and report road hazards and ensure work zone safety.
• Maintain and clean tools, vehicles, and equipment for safe operation.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergencies (compensated).
