Job summary

Grantsville City is seeking a Roads Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair streets, drainage systems, and related infrastructure. You will operate heavy equipment, contribute to snow removal, and assist with traffic control and safety at worksites.

The role requires a valid Utah CDL (or ability to obtain) and a high school diploma, with prior road maintenance experience preferred. Expect varied weather, outdoor work, and a schedule that may include extended shifts during storms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Utah Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
• One year of experience in road maintenance, construction, public works, heavy equipment operation, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
• Must obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) within the timeframe established by the City if not already licensed.
• Must obtain and maintain job-related certifications or training required by the City.
• Must pass a criminal background check and other applicable pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair City streets, shoulders, drainage, rights-of-way, and related infrastructure.
• Operate vehicles and equipment including dump trucks, loaders, excavators, and graders.
• Set up and manage traffic-control devices per plans and safety standards.
• Assist with snow removal and emergency response.
• Maintain records and complete work documentation.
