Job summary

The City of South Jordan is seeking a full-time Parks Maintenance Worker to keep public spaces safe, clean, and inviting. The role covers restroom and pavilion upkeep, field preparation, irrigation work, and seasonal snow removal, with hours from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are 18+, hold a Utah Class D license, and can lift up to 50 pounds. Experience in landscaping is preferred, and the city offers time-off incentives for performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18+ years old minimum.
• Valid Utah Class D Driver License required.
• Experience in landscaping/grounds maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, maintenance, and repairs to park facilities (restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds).
• Operate park equipment (mowers, trimmers, tractors, snow removal machinery).
• Maintain lawns, landscapes, and sports fields for events.
• Assist with irrigation installation, repair, and seasonal maintenance.
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides safely.
• Support events and outdoor space setup for city activities.
