Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) in Lyman, Wyoming seeks a Highway Maintenance Technician to operate equipment, repair roadways, respond to weather events, and support safe travel across the region.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Engineering).
• Experience: 0-1 year of relevant work experience (typically in Highway Maintenance/Highway Construction).
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License within twelve (12) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates complex equipment safely and proficiently.
• Assists with training other technicians in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Under limited supervision, flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices.
• Operates heavy equipment and performs snow/ice removal and roadway rehabilitation.
• Performs general maintenance of highway-related facilities and adheres to safety standards.
• Attends required trainings and uses agency computer systems.
