Job summary
NCDOT Buncombe County Maintenance is seeking a Transportation Worker II to support maintenance and repair of state roads in Buncombe County. Responsibilities include setting up work zones, operating a variety of vehicles and equipment, and responding to emergencies during day or night shifts.
The successful candidate will need to operate CDL‑required equipment, comply with NC safety and regulatory standards, and coordinate with the Buncombe County Maintenance Office.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and three years of experience operating equipment directly related to the area of specialization.
- You must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 360 days of the hire date.
