Job summary

Utah Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Technician II at Parleys to maintain highways and related infrastructure. The role includes operating heavy equipment and snow removal, performing routine repairs, and documenting work using department software.

Starting as a Technician I or II, progression through UDOT's TEP is available. In-Office/On-Site with competitive hourly pay, benefits, and on-call compensation.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Ability to report to Parleys Maintenance Station within 30 minutes and be available for 24/7 operations.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Maintain a smartphone with data plan.
• Commitment to required certifications and continued education through the UDOT TEP program.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on state routes, highways, and drainage features.
• Operate snowplows, salt spreaders, and blowers during winter storms.
• Operate heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, backhoes, and graders.
• Utilize department software to track assets and document work.
• Manage roadside vegetation and apply herbicides.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
