Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Greenville, TX is hiring Transportation Maintenance Tech I or II. The role supports roadway maintenance, operates equipment, and provides traffic control. Training with CDL is provided with lodging, transportation and per-diem as needed during training.

Salary ranges from $40,918 to $64,469 yearly, with full-time benefits and a nonexempt status. Position may require travel up to 5% and onsite work Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 11 AM.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of intermodal transportation engineering construction and maintenance work.
• Inspection methods, procedures and techniques.
• Materials used in highway/bridge construction and maintenance.
• Ability to follow safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway maintenance and repair; operate light and heavy equipment.
• Assist with traffic control; place cones, signs and barricades.
• Maintain highways and rights-of-way; perform preventive maintenance.
• Move litter and maintain rights-of-way and rest areas.
• Assist with inspections and contract work to ensure compliance with plans.
