Job summary

Curry County, NM is seeking an employee for an entry-level field position under the supervision of the Road Superintendent. The role involves shredding county right-of-way and performing general road maintenance, signs, and related tasks.

Work is conducted in varying weather conditions, with potential exposure to hazards and physical exertion, including irregular hours and emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate required; A minimum of five (5) years of heavy road maintenance experience will be accepted in lieu of.
• Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Must be able to write operations reports, and input information in computer program.
• Valid NM Driver's License.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, pre-employment screening and background check.
• Ability to be available nights and weekends for inclement weather, road hazards, accidents, and any other emergency that the Superintendent sees necessary.

Responsibilities

• Shredding of County right-of-way and general maintenance to County roads, signs, cattle guards, and other areas as needed.
• Work is performed primarily in the field in varying weather conditions.
