Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days of employment.
• Must pass and submit to a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for long periods.
• Must endure exposure to inclement weather.
• Ability to operate specialty traffic equipment and follow directions in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all INDOT safety policies and procedures.
• Operate basic highway maintenance and traffic equipment to repair and clean highways and rights-of-way.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Perform winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Conduct emergency response activities such as traffic control, lane closures, signs, and barricades.
• Perform regular inspections and routine equipment maintenance.
