Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation in Roseburg is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Specialist to join the Maintenance Crew. You will operate a range of equipment to keep roadways, bridges, and structures in good repair and assist with emergency cleanup after storms, incidents, and weather events.

You will work in a safety-conscious team that maintains drainage, vegetation, and infrastructure, with opportunities for overtime during emergencies.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license with tanker endorsement required (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
• Experience in highway maintenance or related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair roadways, bridges and structures.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies and snow removal operations.
• Perform minor surface repairs including pothole patching and concrete work.
• Maintain drainage systems, fences, guardrails and milepost markers.
• Respond to emergency calls and be available after hours as needed.
