Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a dedicated equipment operator and maintenance worker to perform a mix of operations, preventive maintenance and manual tasks on roadways. This essential role supports emergency roadway operations and snow/ice removal as needed.

You will operate light to heavy highway equipment, perform safety checks, follow MUTCD guidelines, and collaborate with team members to complete projects while ensuring compliance with OSHA/VOSHA rules and company

Formación

• Demonstrate ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
• Obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment and maintain thereafter.
• Safety shoes required.
• Experience with highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods, and procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and maintain light, medium and heavy highway equipment.
• Perform emergency roadway operations and snow/ice removal.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Install, maintain, and remove traffic control devices per MUTCD.
• Participate as a crew member to complete projects and tasks.
