Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Must obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of hire.
• Capable of performing heavy manual labor.
• Able to read and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment, materials, methods and procedures.
• Safety shoes required.
• Experience operating light, medium and heavy equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Emergency operations: operate and maintain light, medium and heavy highway equipment for maintenance and construction tasks.
• Prepare and operate equipment for snow/ice removal and other emergencies; control traffic.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Ensure work site protection and safety rules are followed, use PPE.
• Install, maintain and remove traffic control devices using MUTCD standards.
• Complete pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate records.
• Work as part of a crew to complete projects and meet objectives.
• Participate in safety and training activities as required.
