Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Maint/Skilled Craft/Ferry Ops role, leading a crew of maintenance technicians and equipment operators. The position requires CDL, a valid driver’s license, and five years of roadway maintenance experience.

Responsibilities include supervising crews, coordinating tasks, and responding to emergencies. Expect extensive knowledge of intermodal maintenance and traffic control standards, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent as minimum education.
• 5 years of roadway maintenance experience (full-time or prorated part-time).
• Valid driver’s license and Class A CDL at time of application.
• Must be able to supervise and lead teams and coordinate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist during accidents and emergencies by sand­ing bridges and roads, erect warning signs, and organize crew response.
• Estimate materials and equipment; inspect roads en route to sites and report issues.
• Maintain records of materials, equipment, and employee time sheets.
• Operate light and heavy highway equipment and oversee maintenance inspectors.
