Job summary

TPD, a top-ranked design firm, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to support roadway lighting designs across multiple states. You will join the Traffic Engineering, Highway, or Access Design teams and contribute to design, analysis, and reports while collaborating within a creative, flexible environment.

Ideal candidate has 4+ years of relevant experience, strong teamwork, and a willingness to learn. EIT/FE or PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Four (4) years of experience is required in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of CADD Software (MicroStation or AutoCAD or OpenRoads) and/or Lighting Design software (i.e., Agi32, Visual, etc.).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines.
• EIT/FE or PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Assist with full signal system designs including pedestrian designs.
• Perform signal timing analysis and create timing plans.
• Design roadway lighting systems.
• Assist with contracts and technical specifications.
• Analyze field data, reports, maps, drawings and blueprints.
• Prepare reports, specifications, plans and permits for projects.
• Ensure quality system tasks per quality manual.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Design electrical systems for roadway lighting per code and sound engineering principles.
• Develop lighting design and analysis criteria for projects.
• Complete photometric analysis for roadway lighting designs to meet criteria.
• Visit sites and perform light meter measurements for lighting assessments.
