Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) in Florence, SC. This self-motivated professional will oversee field inspections for soils, foundations, pavement sections, and structural elements, coordinating with contractors and NOVA staff to ensure quality and compliance.

The ideal candidate has a SCDOT HMA Level 1 Quality Control Technician certification, 2+ years in roadway inspection (3+ preferred), and strong knowledge of SCDOT standards.

Qualifications

• SCDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Level 1 Quality Control Technician required.
• SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician, Earthworks, Concrete, etc. are plus.
• 2+ years of experience in roadway construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in roadway and bridge construction is highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other inspections.
• Coordinate with contractors, and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and result of testing and/or inspections.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports
