Job summary

NOVA Engineering seeks a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) in Florence, SC. The role focuses on field inspections of soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete and structural elements, with coordination of contractors and testing results.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in roadway inspection and HMA quality assurance, and hold SCDOT HMA Level 1 QC certification or similar credits. Growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• SCDOT HMA Level 1 QC Technician certification is required.
• SCDOT ART certification or related roadwork certifications are a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA QA lab testing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway and bridge construction.
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures.

• Coordinate with contractors and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and results of testing and inspections.

Description

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) in Florence, SC. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Positions offer the opportunity for growth and advancement for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other special inspections, as applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors, and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and result of testing and/or inspections, as applicable.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports

One or more of the following certifications is required:

• SCDOT Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Level 1 Quality Control (QC) Technician is required
• SCDOT in Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART), Earthworks, Concrete, etc. are plus
• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing
