Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Transportation Engineering - Roadway/Highway Design Internship to join our Chicago, IL team for Summer 2027. You will contribute to highway and roadway design projects, traffic analysis, and plan preparation under the guidance of senior engineers.

Pursuing a BS/MS in Civil Engineering with interest in transportation, strong communication and teamwork skills, and familiarity with MicroStation or AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred. Valid driver’s license required for site visits.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication, analytical and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist highway/roadway design projects and traffic analysis.
• Support plan preparation and project delivery under senior engineers.
• Gain hands-on experience with design software and collaboration.
