Job summary

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver’s License with Class A endorsement for operating County vehicles and equipment.
• Knowledge of patching highways and OSHA rules for working near traffic.
• Knowledge of basic roadway construction and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to operate dump trucks, chain saws, and construction equipment; Forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and heavy machinery to maintain or construct roads, culverts, bridges, and drainage structures.
• Inspect equipment before and after use, ensuring proper fluid levels and tire pressure.
• Replace catch basins and repair field tile for water drainage purposes.
• Provide traffic control and flagging at road construction sites.
• Perform asphalt repairs, mowing, drainage work and other maintenance tasks.
• Load, transport, and spread materials such as crushed stone, sand and salt using trucks.
• Maintain safety requirements and complete required work reports.
