Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of general roadwork experience.
• Valid CDL with air-brake and tanker endorsements.
• Ability to read and understand measurements.
• Certificate in welding, bucket truck, backhoe and forklift.
• Knowledge of traffic laws that apply to light and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks safely and in compliance with safety requirements.
• Operate various equipment including trucks with spreaders, tar distributors, bucket trucks, mowers, scrapers and loaders.
• Mow and weed trim, remove snow and ice, and patrol roads to assist motorists.
• Guard rails, signs, fences and crack-sealing repairs as needed.
• Dump materials and assist with cleaning roads and bridges.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and training for new employees.
