Job summary

HDR is seeking a Saint Louis Roadway Intern to gain real-world experience in engineering techniques, reports, and calculations under senior supervision. You will assist with urban and rural roadway designs and participate in mentoring programs, while contributing to planning efforts across modes.

The role emphasizes active participation in our employee-owned culture, collaboration with diverse teams, and exposure to transportation projects that shape communities. Local candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience by applying standard Engineering techniques and procedures through the creation and submission of technical reports, plans, specifications and calculations.
• Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level Engineer to assist the team with detailed designs of urban and rural roadway projects.
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals’ programs.
• Apply standard planning techniques and procedures.
• Assist with transportation planning efforts in all modes.
• Perform other duties as needed.
