Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Dallas, Texas is seeking a Roadway Engineering Intern to support our Roadway Engineering team. You will provide administrative and operations support, assist engineers with plan production tasks, and perform basic drafting and CAD assignments under detailed guidance.

Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree and have completed at least 60 hours towards an ABET-accredited program by Summer 2027.

  • 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
  • No experience required if enrolled in a related bachelor's degree program.

Responsibilities

Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Engineering Intern to join our Dallas, Texas office.

Your Role

Provide administrative and operations support to Roadway Engineering staff. Assist engineers with Roadway plan production tasks. Perform simple drafting and CAD assignments following detailed instructions. Coordinates operation within the organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures. Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.

About You

EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor’s degree program in a related technical field.

Education

Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).

Special Skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and willingness to learn engineering design software.
  • Interest in transportation and roadway design with a willingness to learn engineering standards and best practices.

Compensation

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
