Job summary

Parsons is hiring Roadway Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 in the Columbia, SC office. This internship offers hands-on experience, direct mentorship, and collaboration with a world-class team of infrastructure design experts.

Enrollment in Civil Engineering studies is required, with two years of coursework completed and familiarity with federal/state/local standards. Proficiency in MS Office and CAD tools is expected, with EIT preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's Civil Engineering program with ≥2 years completed.
• Courses in transportation, roadway, or structural engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple road projects concurrently.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software (MicroStation and Geopak or ORD).
• Knowledge of industry standards and engineering software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative and innovative roadway/ civil engineering solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with federal, state and local requirements and standards.
• Prepare specifications, cost estimates, quantity calculations, and reports.
• Review supplier drawings and perform technical bid analyses.
• Assist in preparing data sheets and construction documents.
• Contribute to intermediate to large-scale projects as part of a team.
