Seeking a new career challenge? Woolpert is hiring a Roadway Engineer Team Lead in Transportation Design to join our Infrastructure team at Ohio (Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland), Indianapolis, or Kentucky offices. This role reports to the Discipline Leader and involves staff management, project staffing, and project completion across disciplines. Priority is given to candidates with prior people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts, conduct QAQC, and assist with proposals.
• Manage a team, fostering a collaborative environment across transportation and non-transportation disciplines.
• Oversee staff growth, goal setting, reviews, and daily management.
• Hire and allocate work to team members.
• Lead design of complex roadway and transportation projects, including roadway, bikeways, pedestrian facilities, roundabouts, trails, and multi-modal transportation.
• Direct engineering tasks such as highway and street design, roadway alignments, and storm drainage.
• Prepare design documents, cost estimates, and bid packages using local and federal standards.
• Review design plans and supporting documents in detail.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Licensed PE.
• Ability to work near Ohio offices (Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland).
• Leadership experience managing diverse teams.
• Ability to work across disciplines for project staffing and completion.
• Eligibility to obtain Ohio licensure if licensed elsewhere.
• Experience in roadway, highway, trail, bikeway, or drainage design.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads Designer.
