Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years progressive roadway/highway engineering experience; DOT or municipal transportation project experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or OpenRoads.
• Knowledge of FDOT design manuals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers; perform roadway engineering/design tasks across varying sizes and complexities.
• Develop and refine conceptual, preliminary, and detailed roadway designs using drafting/software tools.
• Prepare design calculations, material takeoffs, and construction cost estimates; support value engineering.
• Lead production of design calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications.
• Coordinate with structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, and other disciplines for integrated designs.

Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Roadway Engineer II to join our team!

What You'll Be Doing

• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers; perform a wide range of roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the independent application of standard and advanced engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexity
• Utilize drafting and modeling software, tools, and programs to develop and refine conceptual, preliminary, and detailed roadway designs
• Perform and review design calculations, including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates, and support value engineering efforts
• Assist in and lead the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects
• Support coordination with other disciplines (structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, etc.) to ensure integrated and constructible roadway designs
• Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchases, services, and subcontracts, and support bid document development
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and designers on assigned tasks, helping to ensure quality and adherence to standards

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• 5+ years experience of progressive roadway or highway engineering experience; DOT or municipal transportation project experience needed
• Professional Engineer PE Registration required
• Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or OpenRoads is required
• Working knowledge of applicable roadway design standards and guidelines, FDOT design manuals is preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and participate as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team

Salary Range

$74,800.00 - $130,900.00
