Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Midlevel Roadway Engineer to join our Centreville, VA, or Washington, DC offices, contributing to impactful roadway and civil projects in the DC region. You will apply expertise in roadway design and pavement rehab to deliver reliable, safe, and cost-efficient solutions.

The role requires 3–7 years of related highway/roadway experience, a BS in Civil Engineering, and PE licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is highly preferred.
• Experience leading highway/roadway design projects is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform conventional and moderately complex highway/roadway engineering tasks.
• Serve as a lead engineer for specific disciplines on small to intermediate projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to CAD Designers/Drafters and junior engineers.
• Plan and design roadway facilities prioritizing safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop engineering computations, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Foster cooperative relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Parsons is seeking talented Midlevel Roadway Engineers to join our Centreville, VA, and Washington, DC offices and contribute to impactful roadway and civil engineering projects across the DC region. Key Responsibilities

• Perform conventional and moderately complex highway/roadway engineering tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Serve as a lead engineer for specific disciplines on small to intermediate-sized projects or contribute as part of a larger project team.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers working on the same project.
• Plan and design roadway facilities that prioritize safety, reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Foster cooperative and productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3-7 years of related experience in highway/roadway engineering design.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is highly preferred.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, MicroStation, and industry-standard roadway design and analysis software.
• Preferred Experience: Familiarity with VDOT and DDOT standards and practices.

Salary Range: $63,600.00 - $111,300.00
