Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Entry Level Engineer to join our Highway/Roadway team. The role supports senior engineers in roadway design, field investigations, and the preparation of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 0–4 years of related experience (internships preferred), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 0–4 years of relevant experience; internship preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

We are currently seeking an Entry Level Engineer to join our Highway/Roadway team in our Raleigh, NC office.

Responsibilities

The Roadway Engineer will participate in the planning and design on transportation related projects. The primary duties will be to support senior engineers in a variety of tasks in the field of roadway design. Responsibilities will include performing roadway design, field investigations, preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and the development of technical reports.

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 0-4 years of relevant experience
• Prior Internship or relevant work experience preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to handle multiple assignments
• Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

The expected compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 - $125,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
