Job summary

CTL Engineering Inc. in Charleston, WV is seeking Roadway Engineers at all levels to contribute to a wide range of roadway projects through conception to completion.

You will design, analyze, and evaluate roadways to meet safety and WVDOH guidelines while collaborating with municipal agencies and cross-functional teams. Ideal candidates have Civil Engineer credentials, state project experience, and proficiency in Civil 3D/OpenRoad Designer, with MS Project as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• MSCE preferred but not required.
• Experience with roadway engineering and State DOH/DOT projects.
• Strong knowledge of WVDOH design standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Proficiency in roadway design software such as Civil 3D and OpenRoad Designer.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and design for various types of roadways, including new constructions and rehabilitations.
• Lead and oversee roadway design and analysis projects per WVDOH requirements.
• Analyze traffic patterns to inform roadway design.
• Review and approve design plans from subcontractors.
• Coordinate with public and governmental agencies for approvals.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings, and specs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure projects meet budget and schedule constraints.
• Conduct field inspections and evaluate existing conditions.
• Troubleshoot construction issues and mentor junior engineers.
