Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) seeks an experienced Roadway Engineer for our Pensacola and Tallahassee offices.

You will take on more complex roadway design tasks, refining alignments, preparing plan sets, and performing geometric, quantity, and cost calculations with limited oversight. Responsibilities include applying AASHTO rules, FDOT standards, and MUTCD-compliant plans, with mentoring opportunities for entry-level engineers and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in Roadway Design is required.
• EI required (PE is a plus).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn from and collaborate with teammates.
• Experience with FDOT design standards and plan preparation procedures is a plus.
• OpenRoads Designer (ORD) or 3D Modeling experience is a plus.

Roadway Engineer | Pensacola & Tallahassee, FL

Kisinger Campo & Associates (KCA) is seeking experienced Roadway Engineers in both our Pensacola and Tallahassee offices.

As Roadway Engineer, you will begin to take on more complex design responsibilities and work more independently on roadway design tasks. You will develop and refine horizontal and vertical alignments, prepare detailed plan sets, and perform geometric, quantity, and cost estimate calculations with limited oversight. Utilizing standards such as DOT Design Manuals and AASHTO Green Book guidelines, you’ll begin applying engineering judgment to select appropriate design criteria and adapt standard practices for project-specific needs. You may also coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, assist with project scheduling, and support quality reviews, gaining exposure to broader project development responsibilities while mentoring entry-level engineers as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Use AASHTO Greenbook, Roadside Design Guide, DOT Standards, and other guidelines and memos to develop design criteria
• Understand and apply geometric and roadside safety policies to design transportation projects including interstates and interchanges, new location roadways, roadway widenings, intersection improvements, bridge replacements, and multi-modal projects
• Develop signing and pavement marking and traffic control plans in conformance with MUTCD
• Develop bid documents including special provisions
