STV has an immediate need in our Jacksonville, FL office for a Civil / Roadway Engineer in our Transportation & Infrastructure division. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a comprehensive understanding of roadway design principles.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in roadway design.
• Experience with intersections and interchanges design is preferred.
• Familiarity with FDOT and local Florida standards is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional design services for municipal and FDOT projects.
• Design roadway geometry, drainage, traffic control, signing and pavement markings.
• Coordinate with client management, engineers from other disciplines and marketing teams.
• Mentor Civil design staff and coordinate with the design team to meet schedules and budgets.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.

Job description

STV has an immediate need in our Jacksonville, FL office for a Civil / Roadway Engineer in our Transportation & Infrastructure division.

The ideal candidate is an individual who is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a comprehensive understanding of roadway design principles. This is an excellent role for a creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional that enjoys being a part of a team environment. This opening is a great opportunity for a professional to technically while leading a multidisciplinary design team. Prior experience leading design efforts would be a plus, as this could be a next step in your career to take on an office leadership role.

The successful candidate will:

• Provide professional design services for transportation projects for municipal agencies and FDOT.
• Design roadway geometry and details, drainage (a plus), traffic control, signing and pavement markings for transportation infrastructure.
• Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams
• Design experience using MicroStation, experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus
• Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff
• Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
• Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV's growth.
• Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers
• Mentor supporting Civil design staff

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design
• Experience in design with intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.
• Experience with using Open Roads Designer is a plus
• Familiarity with the current edition of FDOT FDM and Standard Plans, AASHTO Green Book and MUTCD
• Experience with FDOT and other FL municipalities
• Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
• The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• FL PE license is required

Compensation Range:

$75,980.92 - $86,835.34
